Upgrade any FDM 3D printer from 1 kg spools to 8 kg spools — without replacing your printer.
Most FDM printers can only hold a standard 1 kg spool. That means paying a premium for small-pack filament, stopping the machine every kilogram to swap spools, and keeping someone on site to do it. The 0.2–8 kg Filament Feeding System solves all three.
Its servo motor actively feeds filament while a built-in stabilization system holds tension constant, so even heavy 8 kg industrial spools feed smoothly. Buy cheaper bulk filament, change spools 8× less often, and let long or overnight jobs run unattended.
Estimated material savings:(material price difference only; labor savings not included)
| Monthly Usage | Monthly Material Savings | Annual Material Savings |
|---|---|---|
| 50KG | $ 97 | $ 1,165 |
| 100KG | $ 194 | $ 2,300 |
| 200KG | $ 388 | $ 4,600 |
| 500KG | $ 970 | $ 11,655 |
Estimates based on a ¥13/kg price difference. Actual savings depend on your filament prices and usage.
More Features
① Servo-Driven Active Feeding
Conventional spool holders feed passively — the extruder must drag filament off the spool, so heavy spools add resistance and tension changes whenever feed speed changes. This system uses a servo motor to actively feed filament according to printing demand, while tension is set independently by a tension spring — fully decoupled from spool weight and resistance. That's what makes heavy 8 kg spools practical.
② Constant Tension Output
Built-in tension stabilization keeps the set tension constant throughout the entire print. Changes in feed speed, or in resistance from the tension rod and guide rollers, do not affect it — for smooth, stable feeding and fewer under-extrusion or tangling issues.
③ Lower Material Cost — Save ¥13/kg
Use large industrial spools up to 8 kg and buy bulk filament at a lower price. In real user data, filament cost dropped from ¥28/kg to ¥15/kg — about 46% less. The more you print, the more you save.
④ 8× Capacity, 87.5% Fewer Spool Changes
One 8 kg spool replaces eight 1 kg spools. Getting through 8 kg of filament used to take 8 spool changes — now it takes 1. Less leftover filament waste, fewer failed threadings and less re-calibration.
⑤ Save Labor, Run Unattended
Fewer changes, fewer stops and less re-calibration. Long and overnight jobs run without interruption, and the same staff can look after more printers.
⑥ Flexible Spool Sizes, 0.2–8 kg
Test new materials on small 0.2 kg spools and run production on 8 kg spools — one feeder handles both.
⑦ Easy Upgrade
Add-on design for existing FDM printers — no need to replace your equipment.
